GEBG supports our member schools through providing resources and assistance as schools navigate managing the risks of their off-campus, overnight programs–especially those that travel internationally.

FOR TRAVEL PROGRAM LEADERS

GEBG Resource Library

Contains an abundance of resources shared by member schools, including forms, policies, handbooks, vetting checklists, and much more. GEBG member schools have continuous access to and download ability from this wealth of knowledge.

Regional or Custom Trainings for Faculty Program Leaders

GEBG supports schools by identifying and arranging for trained experts in the field to provide regional risk management training for member schools. Additionally, based on member request, GEBG offers Custom Trainings for Overnight Travel Leaders that are faculty-facing and empower educators to better understand and proactively manage risks associated with off-campus overnight programs. This option allows schools to determine the exact timing, location, and school-specific content of the sessions. As a non-profit, GEBG offers these trainings at well below market rate to our member schools.

Additionally, GEBG offers a range of Risk Management focused workshops and online micro-courses that educators can take at their own pace.

Evaluation and Endorsement

GEBG provides member schools with the GEBG Global Education Standards, a set of guidelines that characterize responsible global education programs and prudent professional practice for member schools drawn from benchmark data of GEBG member schools. Two of the six Standards relate directly to program and risk management. Schools can use the Standards to self-assess and improve their policies and procedures, and can also receive assessment and feedback through GEBG’s Endorsement or Evaluation process.

Annotated Guide

An Annotated Guide to Global Education: Standards and Practices from the GEBG Community is a publication of the GEBG Global Education Standards and practices that includes further explanation of what the standards mean, provides examples of what they look like in member schools, and includes guidance on how school leaders might self-assess and begin to develop and improve their own programming.

Group Travel Assistance and Insurance Plan

The GEBG Travel Assistance and Insurance Program is designed for GEBG members that are North American independent schools with domestic and international off-campus, overnight programs. The program brings participating GEBG member schools together as a group to gain access to a significantly discounted group rate for premier Emergency Assistance provided by International SOS as well as insurance to cover the costs of emergency medical needs and supplementary liability and workers compensation coverage for international settings.
